Automate Your Accounting Quick and Easy with ADP and Gusto

Payroll is a complex process and tracking each employee's time, hours, and pay rate can be difficult. Fortunately, several payroll services can make this process easier for business owners, regardless of the size of the business. Gusto and ADP are two of the most popular payroll services available today, but they work a little differently. This article will explore how Gusto and ADP differ in features and pricing to help you determine what's best for your business.

What is Payroll Automation?

If you haven't already incorporated payroll Automation into your business, now is the time. Payroll Automation uses software applications to engage employees in the payroll process. They use a dashboard to submit hours or expense reports, request time off, check the status of their benefits, and more. It is a great way to get your employees excited about their role in the business! It also ensures that your staff members are getting paid on time, every time. Show your employees how much money they've earned and how it's been allocated. This process can help clarify payroll deductions, payment schedules, pay raises and other employment-related questions.

Payroll Automation is essential if you have employees who aren't getting paid correctly or believe they're being underpaid. It can help you address these issues quickly by navigating the dashboard information without spending hours figuring out the problem or the best way to resolve it. Walk them through the Automation process so they clearly understand their compensation and benefits.

Gusto

Gusto is an all-in-one cloud software platform that offers all the features you need to run your business—including payroll.

Trusted Brand Reviews rated Gusto as one of the top payroll service providers of 2022. It takes an average of 13 minutes to run payroll. One of the notable features that makes Gusto so convenient is its integration with QuickBooks. This means you can have accounting and payroll information in one place, making it easier to manage your employees' wages, taxes, and more.

Unfortunately, there's no mobile app available at this time, but employees can use Gusto Wallet to help them budget and save.

ADP

ADP is another great payroll option. Having been around for over 50 years, they have worked with over 10 million businesses worldwide. The platform is designed for convenience, from a one-click installation to a guided onboarding process. Employers are allowed to create unlimited handbooks with no limits on pages or videos. The platform also offers 24/7 live chat support, which makes it effortless for employees to communicate with the human resources team when they need help.

The platform has a library of over 25 different video templates that can be used to create a customized employee handbook for your organization. With these templates, you can create a digital guide that will keep your employees engaged and informed about their benefits and responsibilities at work.

ADP Payroll also offers an online portal where employees can find resources. Offering training videos and FAQs related to payroll processes ensures employers provide the best possible care for their employees. And just like Gusto, ADP Payroll also syncs with Quickbooks. The downside is a lack of available customization for the free version—you'll need to upgrade if you want more features like expense tracking or payroll advances.

Is Fathom Right for Your Business?

You can pay per the number of employees you have, or you can choose to pay for the number of employees in your company who are eligible for benefits.

Gusto has two main plans to choose from, Simple and Plus. The Simple Plan is $40 a month plus $6 per person per month. The Plus plan is $80 a month plus $12 per person month. Both plans include single-state payroll with W-2s and 1099s, payroll and time off reports, and Gusto-brokered health insurance administration, among many other features. The Plus Plan also includes next-day direct deposit, multi-state payroll, and PTO management. A Premium account offers custom plans and pricing for bigger companies. HR Services can also be added on for those who need HR advice or guidance.

If you’re a small business and haven’t hired W-2 employees yet, then the last option, the Contractor Only option, is probably your best bet. This selection is only $6 per person per month. It includes unlimited contractor payments across all 50 states and 4-day direct deposits.

ADP Pricing

There are four different options for both small businesses with between 1 and 49 employees and companies with up to 1,000 employees.

The three upgraded plans include features like State Unemployment Insurance, ZipRecruiter, background checks, legal assistance, and an employee discount program.

Which Payroll Automation is Best for Your Business?

Both options offer comprehensive payroll services and automation, so you don't have to spend time crunching numbers and scheduling. They also both provide syncing with Quickbooks. In addition, they both provide direct deposit, which is excellent for employees who want to get their paychecks as soon as possible. ADP and Gusto allow you to easily add or remove employees from your payroll, which means you don't have to waste time updating your system whenever someone leaves or joins your team.

ADP Payroll allows users access via a web browser or mobile app. Gusto Payroll does not currently support mobile devices; however, Gusto is working on that access for the future!
